Are you looking for a way to play Magic while meeting new friends and winning cool foil cards? Then Friday Night Magic is exactly what you’re looking for! Try it out and discover why Friday night is the best night of the week!

Every Friday, we hold a Draft at 6:30 pm and Pauper at 10:00 pm.

Drafts are $15.00, and include both your three draft packs and a pack in the prize pool.

What’s a Draft?

Drafts are what is called a limited event, meaning you use only the cards you open at the event itself. Players sit at a table with (ideally) seven others, and each player receives three booster packs. Opening the first pack, each player chooses a single card to add to their draft pool and passes the remaining cards to the left (and thus getting the cards from the right). They then choose another card from that pack, passing again to the left, and so on until all cards from those packs have been chosen. Players repeat this process for the second pack, passing to the right, and then the third pack going back to the left.

At this point, each player has a draft pool of 40-45 cards, from which they then build their 40+ card deck. Basic lands are available to borrow as needed (please return them at the end of the night!). Players then compete in a 3-round tournament, and prizing is awarded at the end based on the results. Of course, you also get to keep all of the cards you drafted!

Our Pauper events are free to enter and follows a casual and open play structure.

What is Pauper?

Pauper is a constructed format that allows cards from all across Magic’s history, but you can only use cards printed at common! Because the format is made up of only commons, tier one decks only cost about $50. Don’t have a deck yet? Some of our regulars have multiple decks so people can try out the format risk free! Details and the Pauper banned list available on Wizard’s website.
